I was paying $25 per 1/4, $50 per 1/2, $100 per gram, too. This was in the mid to late 1990's. In the Pacific NW area. I imagine it's different regionally, and depending on the year(s).

I remember doing the exercise in treatment for adding up "what meth cost us". There were several categories for trying to put a dollar amount on all the different areas meth had cost us financially in our lives. (of course, we did the other aspects of what it cost us, too, but the money thing was just to help us really understand how out of control it was in one way that was easy to understand...you can't deny the big old $$$ figures)

This really helped me understand things in a concrete way. It was a good place to start.

But, at the beginning it's also very, very easy to be stuck in a very profound state of denial, and delusion. When you're able to get honest with yourself about some of this stuff, it helps you to break through the denials and delusions, and that eventually helps you get honest with others.
