You hear about addicts going in and out of them like revolving doors. I wonder if a Halfway House/Recovery Home would be a next, better step than having to all of a sudden go back out there and function without a form of structure and support. It is a good way to network with other recovering addicts.
I guess i'm sayiang this because I see so much good that has come out of my daughter's experience in living there currently, working, and networking with lots of longtermers. The house has lots of structure, curfews, they all have jobs to keep the house running, and they are required to have their own job too. It seems to make better sense to me than trying to do it on your own all at once, then ending up running back to more rehabs, IMHO.
