This is my first time posting......but I have been reading all of your posts every day since September 2008. You all have helped in making it easier to cope
with pain that can't be described. I will be forever grateful to all of you.....and you all are in my thoughts and prayers each day.
My son was arrested in September 2008 and spent four months in the county jail because of a Meth addiction. At that time we learned that he was using needles, and had been using meth for 3 1/2 years. He started with marijuana in high school, started using cocaine in college and tells me that once he tried Meth never touched cocaine again. Suprisingly, while using cocaine he still was able to graduate from college. After he started using Meth he was a text book case and lost everything... except thankfully his life. He has 10 months clean time and is living in a sober home and doing well. It is so nice to have our son back. I do know that he will have to fight the addiction for the rest of his life. We didn't enable him while he was finding the bottom....but once he got there and we could see that he was serious about wanting to get sober...we have given him lots of support and love.
Our son was raised in a home with parents that have been married for 35 years and seldom if ever was there any kind of liquor in our home. We have been told that this drug doesn't discriminate. Enough about me!
I need to tell Hemetchick how much she has meant to me and....her posts are some of the best. She is great with advice for the loved ones of the addict. What prompted me to finally post a message is because I haven't seen her on here as much as before. I know she is busy with family.....and lots of children. Hemitchick please know how much your posts have meant to me and I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you love! Also, Robby99........I care so much about you and have watched you struggle with your addiction and finally be able to be sucessful at letting go of Meth. I know you were using needles also.... and I payed close attention to everything you said. You are also in my prayers.... I think about you and can't wait to log on and see how you are doing. Keep up the good work Robby....you are loved.
Again....a big thank you to all of you. You are the best!!
