I haven't been coming here long, but I wanted to share something with all of you. (BTW I have almost 2 1/2 years sober) Some of you know I write a blog
about my addiction and recovery from meth. Many of you have been so supportive by visiting often. THANK YOU!!
Anyway, I've written a book called DISAMBIGUATION about my addiction and recovery and my dream is to get it published. The whole process from writing to publishing is an enormous undertaking filled with self-doubt... yadda, yadda, yadda...
So I've sent letters out to seventeen agents so far (they're called query letters - it's basically how you "pitch" your book). Some ask for writing samples, some don't. Some let you know you've been rejected, some don't. So on Tuesday, I received a request for my full manuscript from an agent who read the first ten pages of my book. I was in shock and cried like a baby for an hour before I got myself together. (I'm kind of a weenie:)
Here's my point: I NEVER could have followed my dream like this if I were still using. I wouldn't have even given a +#@*. I've always dreamed of becoming a writer, though, and now that I'm clean, I'm working hard to make my dreams come true. There are a lot of kind of odd/funny things that have happened related to this, too. I'm a big believer in the Law of Attraction, and it's just been eerie watching it in action.
So there you go. Thanks to those of you who've become regular visitors...and to those of you who've done drive by's! I'm so happy, I could puke
