You all know that I wondered if we did the right thing by not paying fines and getting our son out of jail. He was angry and very upset. Well, we went to
see him week before last. He was not crusing, or being loud, or anything like that. Said he would accept the rehab if the court would go along with it. We
got his acceptance letter yesterday. They did not have visitation last Sunday because of some parade in town so we could not go visit with him. We got a
call from one of the other inmates at the jail. A friend of his, that is a trustee in jail. They had to take our son to the doctor twice last week. He got
beaten up by two other inmates. I don't know why or what started it. I only know what his friend told us, that he has two black eyes, probably broken
nose, and chipped tooth. He said he wanted to tell us so we would not be shocked when we came last Sunday for a visit when we seen him because they took a
broom handle to his face.
God, I don't know if we did the right thing or not now. All we have done is worried about him all week. I called the jail to see if he was ok, all I got
from the guy that answered the phone was Oh he's ok, it was just a scuffle. They put our son in isolation, said it was for his own safety.
We thought we did the right thing, but now he has more charges on him, and has gotten beaten up. His friend told us that the two boys, or men, has been
charged with agg. assualt, that they were on their way to prison anyway, and was being held at the jail till they could get them transferred.
We believed that if we bailed him out, that he would use more drugs, and get into more trouble. He was getting pretty brave, crusing us and ranting and
raving. Now I don't know!!!!!!
