He asked me what I wanted and I said "I just want to be with you". I'm cooking for him. He said that's not how it's supposed to be; that it's supposed to be my day to be waited on. Well, maybe in other families, but not mine!! It's my day to show my son how much I love him, and the best way I know how is to cook a magnificent spread for him and his family. I'm making posole and huevos rancheros, two of my specialities. It's going to be the BEST Mother's Day in 13 long-ass YEARS!!! I'm so excited!!!

The first Mother's Day since my husband died that I'm fairly alive and free of terrible grief or addiction of some kind nagging me or trying to please an addict boyfriend or trying to create a fantasy with an elephant in the living room..... I'll have both of my sons home with me and we probably won't do a thing cept the norm. I like norm now. For me, just being free of nagging addiction and alcoholism and shyt that goes along with it all.... Enough. luv

It would have been wonderful to see cousins that I grew up with, who I haven't seen since I was like 10 years old, but..... I've waited 13 years to spend a Mother's Day with my son, and I said no thank you. Naturally, I was made to feel like the piece of shyt daughter that she always told me I would become when I was little. Oh well.

Your poor mom keeps missing out on the best of you. Her loss.... I guess that's the way to always look at it....her poor loss. I think most people would like to have you as a mom, especially on Mother's Day for Food! What a wonderful thing that we are all learning through recovery-to actually enjoy life on life's shytty(sometimes) terms And Ain't that the truth?! Something most people never do actually learn. luv
