It's hard to believe within six months after this photo was taken, he laid dying in a hospital waiting on a liver and kidney transplant (which he received on Dec.18, 2005).

This is my dear husband in August 2004. He's headed out on his last run to Montana. It was a guys only run or we would have had the bike trailer hitched
up with my hot rollers in it. He always hated me hauling my hot rollers on bike runs....

OMG - I love the pot rack and the pics of you are great! Thank you for sharing - you look like the kind of friend that matches the saying I got (from a great
friend...)
A good friend will bail you out of jail A great friend is sitting beside you saying "WOW - that was fun!" Hugs- logo |

Thanks Logo!
I really had some better ideas for the pot rack... ...such as I would use chains from a used Harley primary chain drive. I did this when my husband was ill, and I had gobs of time on my hands... ...perhaps someday I will "modify" it! I've never been to jail, but on the theory that it's a trip bailing one out...here's some stories! Back in the early 80's (before I had children), my "buds" and I hung out on Peoria Ave in Tulsa, on the weekends, (the restless ribbon). We sat in parking lots (just like the kids do today), and drank beer (18 was the legal age then), smoked pot, partied, and sometimes there were some "legal issues". ...at least with one of my favorite friends. Once he was arrested for indecent exposure (urinating behind the Safeway)... I was surprised he didn't urinate right there on Peoria Ave. We bailed him out that night...It was a blast! Then about a week later he was arrested again for... NOW ARE YOU READY FOR THIS... Solicitation from the road way! A car load of "punks" had pulled up along the parking lot and yelled some kind of obscenities at us... so this friend took out after them, down the street giving them the bird, yelling FU... He had been looking forward to being thrown in a cell with all the prostitutes....NO SUCH LUCK for him. When we walked out of the jail that night, we went back to the restless ribbon and finished our night! One last story about this favorite friend. He had lost his licenses for failure to pay all the fines associated with the above cases, and asked me to drive him to the court house so he could pay the fines and "take care of this shyt". We were standing in line at the clerks office to pay the fine when an officer came up to us and asked him... ..."are you Joe S.", yep....here to take care of business, he responded. The officer walked away, and as the line to pay the fines got shorter, that officer and two others walked up, and arrested him for failure to pay fines. ...ROFLMAO, he handed me the cash he had on hand. I paid his fines, and hassled up more bail money for him. Joe S. Live and Partied Hard, he was in his mid 20's when he was killed in an auto accident. Rest In Peace Joe S. After these days I had my children, and life changed to much like it is today... ...wrapped around the well being of a child! Keep On Truckin' Lady |

I love LOVE the pics of you! Those pictures look like some really fun times.
Red River...........that brings back some memories. When I was growing up we had a cabin in Angel Fire, but it was always so much fun to go across Bobcat Pass ( I think that was the name) and hang out in Red River. I have some really really great memories of that place as my BEST friend and I went there alot during high school. He past away a year after high school graduation in a head on collision near Angel Fire! The thing that took me a long time to get over was the fact that one time he was driving real dangerous (being a typical teenage boy) over Bobcat Pass (it was winter and you know how bad that pass can be) I was in the back yelling and really scared that we would go over. Finally, out of fear for all of our lives, I screamed at him and told him he was going to end up like his brother (his brother had died in a car wreck 10 years before he was killed). It hit him pretty hard, but he slowed down and we made it safe. The thing that took me so long to get over is the fact that is how he did end up and the wreck was in the same part of the country I had went off on him. ENOUGH sad stuff! I do have so many GREAT memories! Thanks Lady, for bringing back some my greatest memories |
