It's nice to meet you Sammi. Welcome to KCI!
What made you decide to get clean 2 years ago? |

I can still taste it at times too - yuck. Just don't forget the yuck - as Lori asked, what made you decide to stop using?
Can I make a suggestion? I would like to suggest that the new meth using friends you have recently attracted, as nice as they may be, are probably not safe people for you to be running with. If you want to stay clean, stay away from people who are using - as they say, if you sit in the barber shop long enough, sooner or later you're going to get a haircut... |

hi thanks!
i decided to get clean because i didn't want to destroy myself anymore. i think i started using because i couldn't handle my emotions so i wanted to destroy my memory on some level, i really wanted to die. getting clean was me facing life again. i must want to run away again. i'm kinda scared that i will. i think staying away from the friends that trigger is a start. i did get clean on my own, no meetings. but i'm drinking too much now and then i contact the friends, and make plans to use on the weekends, then of course i cancel. it's very scary. |

If you are planning a relapse, you very well might just relapse. Sounds like you have some serious reservations about staying clean right now.
What's going on in your life today that would make you want to stop facing it and start destroying yourself again? Is it really worth all that? I personally had to stop getting high, period, no drinking, no weed, had to just get clean. Any other way for me is the road back to meth - and nothing is worth going back to that hell of an existance. Life gets hard this way - gotta deal with shyt now - but this is a lot easier than the way I used to live, I can tell you that with 100% sincerity. |

Wow, Sammie. That does sound like tempting fate.
Good for you for deciding not to destroy yourself anymore. Maybe a good honest look at what helped you reach that decision 2 years ago will help you make the right choices now to protect that decision. Wouldn't it be great to just party and do whatever, and have no consequences? I know we all wish we could do that. But you already know that it comes with consequences. You already found out that it's not the way to go. It didn't work for you. The drawbacks were too much. Right? |

i am going through a divorce and have stopped antidepressants (welbutrin) and i've gained back the 10 pounds that i lost on that. i have yard work and the
house seems out of control.
my mom can be very negative, but i need her right now to help me with some things. seems that sometimes i'm all alone, and more so when i'm with people. i have a great boyfriend who has never even smoked weed. and of course he doesn't understand when i tell him that i'm having a craving. just regular pressures in life. no excuse to slide. |
