I don't know if this should be on the main page or not, but I gotta get some input here, so I took a chance.
I don't really drink, never have, so I don't have any first-hand knowledge about this. Here's my question to the folks who drink or have a loved-one who does: Does liquor ever make you (or your loved one) do things that are TOTALLY out of character? For instance, does alcohol have the ability to turn a sweet person into a monster? A meek person into a raging, out-of-control, hysterical madman? Or do you think that those traits have to be within the person to begin with.
I know that in my life, I've been completely drunk and it would never OCCUR to me in my wildest dreams to assault someone. It's just not in me. But I don't know how other people can react to alcohol, having never really been around many people who drink (drugs, yes, but liquor, no).
So in your opinion, does it come down to massive amounts of alcohol as the main contributor or a "character defect" exacerbated by alcohol?
I've had an "issue" in my family.
