Meth use, Sex, Fidelity, STD’s and stuff
This is a take-off on the thread that was created by wifehope regarding her straight hubby’s MSM (Males having Sex with Males) activities.
The degree to which different individuals engage in bizarre, maladaptive, degenerate activities is as varied as the individuals themselves. Some are very extreme, some are relatively mild and harmless, but in general, meth use will contribute to an increase in risky behaviors. For many of us, meth created something even stronger than an increased libido. I’ve said it, and I’ve heard many others say that methamphetamine created a “DEMAND” for sex. It became quite strong, even insatiable, and there was nothing to do except give in to the overwhelming need to focus all my attention on sexual gratification. The physiology is rather simple and I’ve posted on this quite extensively in the past. Simply put, methamphetamine stimulates the center portion of the brain, the pleasure center, while at the same time, ignoring the frontal portion, the part of the brain responsible for logic, reason and administrative decision making.
Men are sexual creatures. Many, if not most of us, are very sexual and are driven more by the six inches between our legs than the six inches between our ears. (give or take)
Some men also have a tendency to concentrate on body parts rather than on the person as a partner. Perhaps you’ve heard of “Leg Men” or “Bust Men” or “Butt Men.” Etc. Privately, many guys have obsessions with certain body parts, but act a bit more civilized in order to ensure the increased odds of getting laid. Homosexuals can also have a preference, obsession or fetish toward a certain body part or sexual activity.
The notion that sexuality should be labeled and stereotyped into neatly arranged categories of sexual orientation is still rather common, though quite inadequate in describing the realities of sexual orientation. Dr. Alfred Kinsey is of course, the most quoted researcher on the subject and his work is still the standard. On a scale of one to six, humans have varying degrees of sexual preference with zero being exclusively heterosexual and six being exclusively homosexual. I think it was a good start, but it is way too primitive to explain the realities of sexual orientation, behavior, and expression.
Sex and sexuality are still in the very elementary stages of research, knowledge and public awareness. Things are improving though. In my lifetime there have been a number of things that have contributed greatly to the expansion of sexual knowledge, acceptance and liberation. The first and possibly the biggest was the creation or invention of the oral contraceptive, birth control pill. This forever changed the landscape of sex. Next was Hugh Hefner and Playboy Magazine. Erotica became legal and ubiquitous. Another was the invention of Viagra, and similar E.D. medications. The creation of the internet provided virtually unlimited access to any and all kinds of previously forbidden, taboo, and censored information, entertainment and titillation.
Are things different today than they were one, two, or three generations ago? Some things yes, and some things no.
Homosexuality, bisexuality, open-relationships. transgenders, are much more mainstream than they were a few generations ago.
Although, I’d rather shun the use of labels and defining terminology, sometimes it is all that is available in presenting an argument and position, so please forgive me if I step on anyone’s holy grail. I may be all alone in my opinions and viewpoints, but that’s ok. I’d also like to have you share your opinions.
I think everyone is bisexual to a degree, but some more than others. From one to ninety-nine percentiles.
Straight men can have MSM sex, and that doesn’t make them gay. Just like gay men can have straight sex and that doesn’t make them straight. One’s orientation is not determined by his behavior, but his behavior can be a result of his orientation. Using methamphetamine, will often contribute greatly to an expansion of self-imposed limits on behavior and morality.
Defining "sex", or an "act of sex" can be complicated or simple.
I’m going to try to keep it simple.
For men, a sex act can be consummated in four primary ways. The main focus for most men is his penis, dyck, cawk or whatever you call it. The other body parts are his mouth, butt and hands. I’m leaving breasts out of this equation on purpose because nipples are usually secondary for men
So for straight men, seeking sex, without a woman, there are just a few options. Gloryholes in places like ABS’s (Adult Book Stores), Tea-Rooms, and Hooking up with another guy in person. Oprah did a number of shows on the Down-Low Phenomena. I guess it was new to Oprah, but guys have been doing that sort thing for thousands of years.
Anonymous sex, to a guy, can be painless, sterile, temporarily satisfying, guiltless and convenient. Walking up to a GH (gloryhole) is simple, easy, low-cost and takes care of business. His imagination may create an image of some ultra-hot babe on the other side. Reality is trumped by fantasy. Methamphetamine is good at contributing to this.
In a continuum, we might also ask, What is a sex act? Is watching another person masturbating a sex act? Is oral sex actually having sex? President Clinton said it wasn’t. Is mutual masturbation a sex act? Does insertion need to be a part of a sex act? These are rhetorical questions and do not require answers.
BTW, on the topic of cheating and forgiveness, I think Hillary Clinton made a statement without saying anything. How noble are you? How spiritually superior are you when you can or can’t forgive?
STD’s sometimes called STI’s (sexually transmitted infections) are also varied. Everything from HIV to Herpes. There seemed to be a lack of awareness in some areas, by a few people, regarding this subject on the other thread.
HIV can be transmitted through blood, semen, and occasionally through vaginal discharge, and in rare cases, mother's milk. HCV or Hepatitis C can only be transferred via blood. HCV is not found in semen so a good case can be made that HCV is not a sexually transmitted disease. Condoms are pretty effective in protecting against Syphillis, Gonorrhea, HIV, and a number of others. They are not a hundred percent but pretty close. Herpes can be transmitted by skin to skin contact of an infected area. Sex intercourse does not have to be involved for herpes to be transmitted.
Most of these diseases, while serious, are often not life threatening. Exceptions abound. I work as a clinician and everyday I see people with any or all of the above mentioned diseases who have been diagnosed early, treated and live long, happy, healthy lives.
STD's and STI's should be avoided at all costs. But if a person does get infected, or becomes positive, it is rarely a death sentence. Early diagnosis, treatment and intervention are almost always very successful.
Now, please tell me what you think about these matters.
thanks
