I believe in the Big Book, theres alot I relate to in there. However there any many dogmatic ideas in there that i dont agree with, and I dont practice.

I havent had any bad experiences from the information I have used in that book. I still have favorite pages, and paragraphs that still help me.

Its definately worth having on the book shelf.

It even works good as a prop for a table leg that might be shorter than the rest. They only cost six dollars. Much cheaper than a new table leg.

Go to some meetings, and I'm positive you could get one for free.

I have been clean for a while, and I still keep an open mind to anything recovery related.

I listen to the similarities, and there are alot of them in that book

Heres something I relate to you.

From the beginning of Chapter Five....

"Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average.

There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest."
