After our dog was ran over and killed about
3-4 months ago, we adopted a female, unspayed
puppy (Duchess).

When we took her to the vet we inquired about
the cost of having her spayed...
...it was $65. However, they gave me a form to
fill out for assistance with the spaying of Duchess.

Low income pet owners are those receiving Medicaid, OKDHS or SSI (Supplemental Security Income) assistance and having proof of benefits such as an Oklahoma Health Care Authority card, Access card, or Notice of Award letter. Fees are $10 for cats and $20 for dogs. Rabies vaccinations are $5 and are only available at the time of surgery. http://www.bestfriendsokc...pay_neuter_assistance.htm

The fees for dogs has been lowered to $10

Bug is on Medicaid and I receive $87/month to
assist in raising her, as I receive no assistance
from her mother, and the father at this point is
still unknown.

There really isn't an excuse to not have your
pet spayed or neutered. IMHO!
