I watched an Intervention "after treatment" the other night. Very good. All but one had gotten recovery. The one guy who didn't reminded me so much of my husband. He was "doing it his way". One of the therapists made the comment how the others (who had found recovery) had a sparkle in their eye (and they DID) --- but this guy didn't have that. In fact - he looked miserable like he was jonesing to me. And, the way he described "his way" came off as VERY insincere and empty.

The one thing all of them had in common was they SURRENDERED completely to the program. They also wanted it.

It's really simple. Robby is not done partying. Neither is my husband. They may never be.

The sober people looked a LOT happier than that one guy who was doing it his way though.

I think a sober happy life is where it's at. Drinking can be fun for me sometimes -- but always leaves me feeling worse for wear. Here's to looking for that healthy, sober happiness.image
