LOL, Phoenix, the Dr. gets put behind the name when med students graduate, doesn't mean they have gone through internship or residency, nor opened a practice. Lots of newly 'minted doctors' have gone into trucking as a way to make payments on those student loans, same with attorneys...as for politicians, well, I never said what level or what kind of politicians did I? LOL, try city councilmen, school board members...even a county commissioner.

Trucking can pay very well, if one works hard, in the late 80's J.B. Hunt was paying $0.38 per mile, even at 600 miles a day it adds up. Include drop pay any where from $30.00 to $60.00 for extra stops, and unloading (if the driver opts to do it) around $80.00 for a full trailer load, and a $26.00 per day per diem. Paychecks of $700.00 and more per week weren't all that unusual. Rates are even higher now and per diem is up also.

Trucking these last couple decades has been pretty easy to get into, with the driving schools and the companies willing to take on trainees. It's also pretty quick to get qualified, over all, a 6-12 week training course via the schools, which then help graduates to obtain their CDL, and recommendations to the various companies.

You've a wild imagination.
