You said:   Before meth I was very social, happy go lucky, nothing ever bothered me, I could speak in front of large groups of people without being anxious, I was very energetic, etc.....

.....I can totally relate to that.  Meth took that all away.  I had so much confidence before meth, and so little after meth.  My boyfriend is trying to help me get some of that back, but it will be a long road I'm sure.  I was also very social before meth. During my 27 years of using meth, I avoided crowds anytime that I could.  After quitting meth my anxiety level went through the roof when I was put into social situations.  I dealt with them the best that I could, but I no longer enjoyed them.

.....In the 9 or so months that I have been with my boyfriend, he has taken me out more times then I can even imagine.  I am starting to enjoy being out with friends again.  He shoots pool in tournaments, and wants me to join him in the couples tournaments.  I suck at pool, but he tells me that winning is not important to him, and that my having fun is.  Most of the people he plays with do not drink alcohol, and none of them get high, unlike most pool players.  He has a nice group of friends, who have all welcomed me with open arms.  I am actually starting to enjoy life again, and I look forward to going with him to the different bars, the VFW, the American Legion, and other places that they play.  I haven't looked forward to doing anything in decades, so this is a big change for me.  Carol
