Hi Technics - My name is Carol.  I used meth for over 20 years and I have been clean now for 8 years. The story you describe sounds like the average long term meth addict.  I was what they call a functional addict.  I was able to keep my job, and I have no arrest records for anything.  Your brother has got to WANT to change.  Nobody can force him to change.  I'm sorry to hear that your mother is enabling him.  That never helps, it just makes matters worse.  I started using when I was about 18 years old, and I quit when I was 45 or 46 years old, so yes it is possible for us to change, and to have a decent life thereafter.  I was one of the lucky ones.  Many are not as lucky as me, and they die a meth addict.  I would be happy to answer any questions that you might have to the best of my ability.  ALL meth addicts are different.  ALL recoveries are different.  All I can do is tell you how it was for me.  Bye for now.  Carol
