Well, since you're asking for opinions - I'm as guilty as anyone else.

In my opinion, the best place to live is where I am.  (That's why I'm here)

I don't plan to move to another location before I die.  But sometimes plans need to be modified.  (Oh well)

I lived in Portland a couple times.  Once for a few months and another time for about a year.
I couldn't wait to get back home.

Portland Oregon  looks nice, but it rains way too much for me.
I don't like snow either.

Lisa,   If I'm not mistaken, I think you've lived in the L.A.  or So Cal area most of your life?

A change of that magnitude is really serious.

Again, in my opinion, many of us get settled in our ways, our culture, and our geographical social norms.

That means that people in West Hollywood have different standards, that is different from,  say a suburb of Portland or a suburb of Denver.

Having to learn a whole new set of navigational and social paradigms might be exciting for some people, but challenging and annoying for others.

Anyhow, that's my opinion.  I hope the best for you.
