They had a million dollar home. They got thier parents over here to. And somehow those people got Tenn Care, which is Tennessees welfare medical insurance. I worked 7 days a week back then and I couldn't afford the medical insurance through my job for my kids and didnt quailfy for Tenn care. I couldn't even afford rent on my own back then. Recently I was in line behind some mexicans at the grocerystore. They paid with food stamps. That didnt bother me but I saw them in the parking lot getting into a brand new SUV. They payments on one those would probably buy grogeries for a month. And what I meant by a plant. OBAMA is muslim. Claims he isn't but it is plain he is. He will finish us off. I have no problem with him being black at all. My grandson is 1/4 thia and he is brown. He is the love of my life. The system is messed up. thats for sure. These are my opions, not to be thrust upon anyone. God bless all gloria

I think most people would agree no colour is less than another. I think Jessie Jackson called Obama for being a racist this week. I think people are entitled to their own opinions and thoughts on subjects without judging their character. with that, I'll say I Love Pedro but deport his ass.

I love the diversity different nationalities bring to my country. I am Australian. My grandparents hated the italians, they said they came and stole all their kids jobs. But now everyone loves the italians. My parents hated the japanese, they came in and bought up half the country. Now noone cares about the japanese. my peers hate the vietmanese and asians. I am sure the next generation will find someone else to hate i just hope they dont all gang up and hate us Aussies. Cuz if they do, i am moving to America

But there are right and wrong things in life. My great grandmother was a full blooded cherokee indian. Somehow her family managed to get out of the trail of tears walk to Oaklahoma in the 1800's. This area was Cherokee land. But they uprooted those people and made them walk accross country to thier new home to die on the way and starve when they reached there. Each generation faces thier own problems. When I frist started driving. Gas was 46 cents a gallon. Now its $4.00. The goverment sent out these checks recently to boost the econimy. All the people I know that needed them most , lost them to old debts or didnt get the amount they were suppost to. But I know people who didnt need a dime of it and they got the maxium amount. I am not angry with them. Thats just life. gloria

LOL... now, I could get all butt hurt about this (Being from an extremely Irish Catholic background, and having been born on the east coast where the thing to do was "Irish verses Italian" back in my parent's days...) My mom travels to Ireland every other year, my daughter has been there, my father, my brother... not me or my son, though. "We're going without those guys someday. Anyway, we're Americans, but just a few generations off the boat from Ireland. My Grandfather's parent's had to change the family name from McGarrault to another name, because that was too Irish, and Irish was "Bad" at one time in this country. I COULD jump to the conclusion that the above captioned statement implies that ALL people of Irish Catholic descent are rascists. The truth is, the history of the Irish in the America's started out pretty bad for the Irish, who were excluded, not allowed to work, etc... we WERE considered "Bad for the neighborhood," and it wasn't that long ago, historically speaking. No Irish Need Apply But ya know what? Life's too short. I am SO not offended by Grumps statement. There are comedians out there who are "Equal Opportunity Offenders" who rip into EVERYONE - D.L. Hughly comes to mind as one of my favorites (He cracks me up and NO ONE is exempt with him... we're all gonna get picked on.) Sometimes a joke is a joke. What about blond jokes, jokes about women, "three ________ walk into a bar..." Life is tough. Laugh more. It's good for you.. and where there is humor, see humor, and where there is malice - well, choose not to partake if malice isn't in your heart. I don't see Danimal as a particularly cruel person. Anyway, gotta go. They're after me Lucky Charms.

But I know one hell of a lot of Irish descent peeps (outside of my own family) whose families have similar issues with racism. Many of the kids my age (omg, I am still referring to 30 year olds as kids) who come from Irish families deal with the same kind of stuff: "I'm not racist, I know this wonderful lady from my work, she was so nice, and black, too!" (then in the same breath, they fire off the "N" word, then laugh if you get mad". Thank god I didn't grow up with that being a CONSTANT like my dad did. That's why I referred to these elements of my family as the "old Irish family", all of them first or second generation, lived in segregated Philadelphia in the 50's when it was still completely acceptable to toss around the N word in the comfort of your segregated neighborhood - a world somewhat different from the (somewhat) increased integration that we live in now. Some of us at least. I was lucky as hell to grow up in a pretty damn integrated environment. I was usually the only "guera" around. Segregation does wonders for your racism-honing skills. There are a lot of racist whites in this country, and a lot of NON racist whites, too. Then there are a pretty thick number of people who don't think they are racist, but still subscribe to a few racist ideas, many of them media-propagated.
