Suzette's threads in the past have been the most helpful thing in the world for me to understand the meth addict mind.

Phoenix, I'm not sure why you have changed your opinion on all this but you have.

Learning to understand and actually be able to have compassion for the meth addict has been the One and Only thing that has led to me being able to let go of mine and continue on with my life regardless of whether or not he is clean.

Oftentimes addicts believe they are unique and in their thinking and actions and often wanting and needing to forget who they were after entering recovery. It's dandy that many are in recovery here, but not all get into recovery (most do not) and the loved ones are still stuck here wondering what the h3ll happened.

Secrets keep us sick and meth addiction is like one big ugly secret. Suzette is very much like my addict x in that their thinking and actions seem to be very much the same. I have No Contact with my addict for my own best interest and his too.

So, phoenix, you can certainly say that you weren't anything like suzette and you point out the places where you were not thinking those things when your wife was asking you those questions. You are blessed, good. So, many are not as blessed.

I am sad that new people here may not have the chance to read how Suzy so honestly recalls how suzette(the meth addict) thought and felt.

Suzie's courage to lay it on the line and be honest is totally admirable in my eyes and I think it helps recovering addicts to make sense of why they may have acted the way they did when they were using too.

I think much nicer things about my addict x now that I've read suze's pages and pages of roll playing.

We're all adults here and hopefully no one thinks that suzie has the audacity to think that she absolutely knows how everyone thinks-it's just the best and only way for a non meth addict to possibly understand how their loved one could turn into a demon right before their eyes. I see it as a labor of love and something she can do to help that makes her feel a little more hopeful and maybe it helps her figure it all out too.

By saying that it's all bs, you are saying that what she believes to be true is not and
well, that's actually kind of rude.

If a disclaimer needs to be made so that no loved one possibly misunderstands, well, so be it, but I have a much higher regard for the loved ones here and the male loved ones of meth addicts that have been here have all seemed to thiink that Suze is Right On in her role playing too.

Just because we might be codependent doesn't mean we're stupid and thiink everyone is exactly the same but from what I've seen, meth addicts have a zillion things and actions in common.

To stop loving us or caring about us one day for no reason is very hard to understand. This roleplaying is so damned helpful for me, I wish for everyone to have a chance to try it, even if they are just reading.
