I've been in-patient for other psych issues.
I've also been to intensive outpatient treatment for other psych issues. The intensive outpatient lasted around a month, and they had me in the recovering addicts group with some people who were fresh off the shyt. I received a lot of educational handouts, especially in regards to copeing skills, improving self control, improving self esteem, and so forth. Of course, there was some emphasis on addiction. There was a lot of group therapy.
With the exception of the physical detox
, is in-patient rehab a
lot like regular in-patient or intensive out-patient treatment for other psych issues? (Only with a greater focus on addiction.) I think that the
norm for staying in in-patient treatment for other pysch issues is around a week, and isn't rehab at least 3o days?
I'm just trying to see if there's something I've missed that could potentially be a hole in my Active Recovery Plan. I'm so happy to feel like I'm actually starting to recover instead of just partial abstainance!
