Posts: 144 (04/30/08 05:21:12) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I'm sorry you are going thru this...we went thru it for over 20 years before we were finally able to accept the fact that there was NOTHING we could do...or SHOULD do....this past year we have done NOTHING to help our daughter....after her becoming homeless, spending countless nights in jail (even last Friday night taken from rehab), spending months in the hospital from infections from using bad needles......she is FINALLY in rehab BUT it is court ordered..though according to her she is there on her own...????...I still don't talk to her much except a word here or there....it has been 3 weeks.....we have custody of her kids now for 10 months... She is still lying, etc.... Please take care of yourself and realize that he does have choices....I KNOW it is so hard...we really did believe all the help we helped her with that that time would work....it never never did...never.... Just know that while he is in jail he is free of drugs...and also while in jail that he will be able to be taken care of...maybe not the way YOU or HE would want it done...but it will be done.... My thoughts and prayers are with you..hang in there for you and your husband......your son has his own path to follow.....

ADHD meds aren't going to help much in early meth withdrawal. If his meds are stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin) I would suggest he sit out this jail time, then see a good doc, and try out some non-stimulant options for ADHD.

He is like my son, he is a grown man. He has to start acting like one. I think we spoiled these kids born in the seventies to death. My daughter has been great but even she was spoiled. My son has been hell from day one. He nearly killed me in childbirth and I swear he's been out to get me ever since. They are crazy on that stuff. Mine used to make us look outside for the people crawling along the ground. And hiding in the bushes. My dad shot the yard up different times to make him belive they were not there or he killed them. The sleepless nights, we can never get back, the money, the torment, the hell, the violence. But he was my kid, my son and bottom line I love him unconditionaly. But I don't have to live with him or around him without conditions. Mine was raised in good home, he never was deprived or abused in anyway. But he was always pissed off at the world. I think he took drugs and drank and had sex the frist time he ever got away from me long enough. And I was to stupid to see it for years. He is ADD or whatever, I am sure of it but I could never get a diagonosis. I have had his son by his frist wife since he was five weeks old. He will be 12 in Nov. My son, THANK GOD is in rehab and clean 9 months now. He is coming home for a trial visit in June. All this came up about my gastric bypass surgery around same time as his pass. So I will just be a little over twoo weeks post op. I certainly won't be up to his old ways. But from what I see of his pictures and talking to his counslors. I think a different man is coming home. I been at doctors all day. I pm'ed you this morning. I was so sleepy, I can hardly remember what I said. But know dear , you are not alone. There are many mothers and dads praying for thier addict children. God bless you, many prayers. gloria

Was so glad to hear that your son is in recovery. Hopefully ours will come around. Suz thank you for your input. He gets so angry and violent when he is on meth and any drug really, that he doesn't think of the conquenses until later when his head is thinking clearly. I am going to check tomorrow to see if he can have visitors this Sunday. I can only pray that something good comes from all of this, cause his Dad and I are just wore out. They finally said he could have visitors. Haven't talked to him for 2 weeks. I will see if he is willing and the courts are willing to go to a treatment center. If he says he will, I am going to call the number you gave me. If that man can't help, mabye he knows someone here that will help him. I will post, after the visit. Thank you all for talking with me, you will never know how it has helped us. God willing, Our son will be willing. Love you all Peg

There was a 2-week waiting period for us to see our soon too. I think that's normal at many jails/rehabs/institutions. You two take good care of yourselves and each other...... time heals. God heals. He eyes were wide open. He still was a little hyper. He did tell us though, to look for some kind of treatment center, he would tell the court that he wanted to go. My husband says he is not sure he means it, cause he maybe just wanting to get out of jail. I say it is worth a try. What do you think? He has been in jail and prison before, but it seems like it is getting harder for me to see him like this. He had done other drugs before, that caused him to get into jail, but since getting introuduced to this meth it's something else. He is someone that we don't know. I just want our son back, its been so long, I don't know who our son is anymore. Forget Suzette--I love your writings. Thanks to all of you for your prayers. We really need them.

IT ALWAYS WORKED BEFORE! .....Yep, it's a head trip. deciding you're gonna quit is exactly like leaving someone you thought you would ALWAYs be with. .....it's a slap in the face.
