I have this group of friends that used to do this. We were a foursome, and sometimes we'd all get on eachothers nerves when we spent too much time together. So we'd stop, and have "Good Say Day". Bascially we'd sit down, and each person would say something good about each of the other people. The rules were: It had to be good. And it had to BE GENUINE. It sounds cheesy but it's actually really nice to hear nice things. A lot of times I'd hear things that my friends would not ordinarily say... cause we never get the chance. I think KCI as a whole has been getting on it's own nerves. So let's try this! Now, we obviously cannot go through every person, everyone one of us. So I am going to ask that someone choose one person from KCI. To make this more challenging, I hope you select someone who you do not talk to everydat, PM, or already praise constantly on a daily basis. You can do more than one, but try not to do like, a giant list. I love you guys!

Even though it's not always easy, you let us know that you are still pressing forward. I am so proud of you! PositivelyJim - I always look for your posts. You have a refreshing perspective - and seem to take a more compassionate approach in regard to social issues than most people in the field I have met. I like how you see the BIG picture (why is the wealth gap RELEVANT to addiction) and you seem to go out of your way to defend the dignity of addicts and people who have slipped into problems. Thanks for all you do!

Posts: 7104 (04/15/08 16:46:09) Forum Star Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Hey, maybe I'll do one at a time so that this post gets 15 pages long....of good stuff instead of BS Ok, Indianashedevil, Susan, has the most wonderful magical way of telling the truth in a gentle, funny and kind way in that she read what I wrote oftentimes and looked inside herself for "That particular File of experience, strength and hope" and took the time and emotion to read through her file and remember what helped her most and I think prayed she'd never go there again because she was now Through that stage, then she methodically replied back to me. I know how much time, care, emotion and not a little painful recollection to be honest and caring at the same time. That's a Good, Very Good, special thing about her. I haven't communicated with her in ages but she popped into my head and heart today. How's that grumps? Did I do good? it's ok, I know I did Isn't it cool that I can do that all by myself? I probably used to really NEED someone to pat me on the head and tell me I did it right. Before I listened to Indiana a lot. Just wait until the other 15 pages come.... lu

And I have found the other side of that reality in recovery I have found the other side of that truth here... I was wondering just the other day if you took any random group of recovering addicts and loved ones would they be this awesome? Would they have this love that I have found here in all of you? Would they have the truth that is here? Would the have the wisdom and the insight and the compassion that we do? I can't think of one day that I have been here where there wasn't something that enlightened and touched me. Truly.

OK Spacemonkey is a REALLY GOOD WRITER! He can write from inside my heart-the part I share with the meth addict. I don't know how he does it, but he does it well and good for goodness! He was the first person to put himself into the place of the addict x and take the time to explain to me what the addict was probably feeling and he was Spot On. luv

I have truly come to enjoy his posts and don't get all ruffled over some of the more 'having to think' topics that can really get some debate going. He brings a unique perspective to KCI, both as a recovering addict, and as one who works closely with addicts in his field of work. He's one of the people who inspired me to finally complete my degree

She reminds me a lot of my brother who has an uncanny knack for cutting through the tension with humor. I also feel we are kindred spirits in the battle of 'am I an alcoholic or am I not' I think I may have advanced a little further down the field at this point, but that's okay I think we should legalize Mexicans! Viva la revolution!!!!!!

He just warms my soul when he writes from his. He gives me that beautiful spark of anticipation of recovery for my addictxx. It is NOT HOPE, it is ANTICIPATION which comes with faith. He's a walking(or writing) witness that recovery is possible and so is renewal of softness and innocence and humility and kindness and love luv

I just want everyone to know I will be "on board" was this idea. I too, would like to take the time to devote to each and everyone of the kind people have helped me in my journey. A poor woman walked to the local well each day with two pots to bring water back to her home, one pot was perfect and efficiently carried a full amount of water back home, but the other pot had a crack in it and leaked all the way home and was only half full by the time the woman reached her home. The cracked pot complained one day that it really hated not being to carry a full load all the way home. The woman told the cracked pot to look at the path she took each day. On the side of the path that she always carried the cracked pot on there grew many beautiful wild flowers and on the other side of the path was nothing but dirt. She explained to the cracked pot that it watered all the flowers each day and without its crack there would be no lovely flowers for everyone to enjoy. Luv - takes time every single day to be uplifting and helpful to the new people on here as well as the regulars. Luv always has something nice to say to everyone and can find a positive in every situation. Obviously runs the Lemonade stand! Loraura - a pure wealth of knowledge and takes a beating like a true Champ. You get verbally abused a lot more than you should, yet you hold your ground and dont run off crying like many would do. You're a strong, intelligent woman and I admire you even though you sometimes get on my nerves. LOL Charlie - I appreciate that you're clean and that you're really giving it a go. I'll ponder and post more tomorrow. Good Thread Grumps! M.
