Currently my daughter is manager of a womens' estate house of recovery at a ranch rehab. For one of their "classes," she had them watch the movie Interview With A Vampire. Many of the women are recovering meth addicts, amongst other drugs. Anyway, she said to watch the similarities and parallels in life as one gets the first "hit" of blood smilar to the first "hit" of meth. How your life is on an inexplainable, confident high, only to slowly get more confined and dependent on your "hit" until all you do is lose everything else, sleep and crash, (a lot of the time never come out in the daytime) until the next hit. She said it's so like being a spiritual vampire, it scared her. Even though she's been on every drug in the book, she herself said there is something about meth that made her think of this movie. Just thought I'd share...She was very animated telling me about this. I remember the movie back in the 90's, but now I think I'd like to see it again. mlg

The person I was before stopped existing when he took me under his wing & intro'ed me to his high. This man was almost supernaturally smooth in that he could tell a line of shyt that just made me think he was the most open minded man, that I could trust him. Well, it turns out that Maker was dangerous to my health in himself. (((long story))) He was what I've heard called a "hype". Nonetheless, I still have weird dreams about him, as if we were lovers. The connection was nearly vampiric, come to think about it. Plus, I was addicted on the first hit--I'm sure of it. I was like the little girl vamp Claudia in her first feeding. "More!" Before my mouth starts to water and I get euphoric recall, I'd better leave it at that. Did you know that in a later Anne Rice book Lestat (along with Mona and somebody else) actually feeds on drug dealers who were high on meth and they all catch a buzz?

Posts: 7359 (04/27/08 11:37:53) Forum Star Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	a year or so ago I posted about how my meth addict x who was also a very busy drug dealer and "doctor" to many was much like a vampire to me. Or perhaps I was a source of "feed" to him. Yes, he was very much like a turned vampire as well as a feeder regarding meth and the meth addicts. He fed off of them and they fed off of the meth that he provided. There was a difference between his "friends" who were heroin addicts and just occasional party customers. Those people actually noticed that he was losing his soul and didn't like it. The difference with the meth addicts was that they didn't seem to care one iota about the way he fed off of them and they fed off of him. He would go do his business for a few days and come back home only to sort of feed off of me....like he was balancing out. He really didn't have a clue what was so bad about that once I realized what was happening and started protesting. The only thing that seemed to scare him was the "Light and Love" that sort of burned him... he would run. Quite a few people didn't like the way I described my addict x....it seemed to make them uncomfortable and they seemed angry with me for describing a human being that way. I only described what I saw and felt honestly. I describe it as demonic because that's the best way I can explain it. demonic/vampiric - same thing. When he was forced to get off of meth in jail, it was almost as if he were being controlled by a force so powerful that was telling him he would die if he did not get to feed. This is where I see recovery-constant vigilance in recovery of ones self being much more than just quitting the meth.....the need to feed must be quit and replaced with the idea that one has Enough, clean and sober, just as they are. luv
