i have just come from a catchup with a woman i havnt seen properly for about 4 years
we used together occasionally . . speed and the odd xtasy
she is now studying to be a nurse and wants to specialize in mental health
working with schizophrenics,bi-polar and yep . . those darn meth addicts!lol!
we talked about what she knew,after offering me a joint which i refused . .whatever . .i went on to say id been clean for 4 months and joints,drinking . .blah,blah,blah dont do it for me:just a sleeping pill at night for me just for now
anyway,she was kinda horrified that i had used meth . .
'no no not that' . . fair enough . .then i said 'well . .what about you?speed is speed is speed isnt it?'
hmmm . .i guess she stopped in those 4 years and i went on .. smoking speed has only been around in this country for half a decade . . .whatever . .
so then we got into a rather heated discussion as to the damage meth does to the brain as does marijuana[imo]
especially when used while the brain is developing
she was so scientifically opinionated
i said . '.there must be room for miracles-if you say damage done . .whats the friggin point?besides i know of a many great young people on my site that started using meth at a really young age and are articulate,promising,fantastic people!'
i said to her . . 'well what happened to us?what makes YOU so brainy?'
oh ..' we didnt kno back then,did we . .'she said
huh?
it was getting to be a contradictory conversation and so it naturally ended as we knew we didnt want to go there
she did say she thought kids doing this drug and x's were fukked forever . . hmmm . . to me that leaves no room for any hope,any love really?
there are so many tangents to consider i know,degrees of addiction,tendency to mental illness pre use etc,etc
i just found her to be so dogmatic[well . .so say the scientific studies!]ooo . . it put me right off
is methamphetamine you smoke the same as speed you snort . .from what iv learned here it is . .
and the younger the user the more fukked up?
personally, never been a heavy user however i KNOW im an addict . .and she is too . . smoking pot and drinking[though shed never admit,anyway,who am i to take her inventory .. lol!]

her and i were both smoking pot in our teens and speed started truly in our mid to late 30s . . cept guess she stopped as i said before
she also said that the meth users came and went through the hospital system like a revolving door . .wheres the ethical value in that? and that the drugs they were given had such pow erful side effects. .people stopped using the prescription[supposedly to help]and started using meth again
hmmm . . im confused and kinda miffed . .
you see,i BELIEVE in miracles
that the brain can regenerate . . or am i living a fantasy here?
or shall we all just give up and go home?
