Well his mother is "bawking" at it. She is his biggest enabler. She said she just wants him gone. She is thinking of starting the eviction process to legally have him removed from their home. She tells him to leave, locks up the hosue but he breaks in. Then she doesn't do anything.....just leaves him in the bed. She won't admit it but she is afraid of him. As we all know - confronting a tweaker is not wise. I told her that is fine - but I won't let the baby go over there if he's there. I had thought of doing supervised visitation at their house but not anymore. She says she's just numb nd doesn't "feel" anything for him right now.

I told her that an intervention would give the situation dignity adn respect for all. Their guilt of kicking him out (usually with yelling, threats to call 911) always causes them to let him come back. BUT if they gave him a choice in the matter (treatment) it would alleviate that guilt. He would basically be choosing his path = drugs and living in his car.

We'll see - I don't think his parents are strong enough to follow through with it. And, an intervention will never be successful unless everyone involved is commmitted ot following through with it. And, that means if he doesn't agree to treatment - he's cut off - completely.

They can't handle it when he comes back begging/crying....they always let him in. And, he owes so much money to everybody (me mainly) that they let him go back to work with his dad here and there. When all he does is spend the money on drugs/gas for his car. She can't see that she is enabling him. To her that is helping him pay his bills. But, the reality is --- he's spending what little money he makes on drugs. They want him to just straighten up on his own and it's not possible. He is way too far gone.

I think I'm trying to handle the situation with dignity in order to minimize MY guilt. He makes me feel so guilty for turning my back on him. And, I feel like there is SOMETHING I could've done. I shouldn't have EVER drank with him. Maybe that made him use? I should've listened more and been more understanding. Maybe our fights made him use? I should've loved him more - been a prettier, sexier, better wife. Maybe that made him use?

All of this is swimming in my head on a daily basis. But, when I look at this logically -- and just do the next right thing - I feel better. I feel like I'm atleast doing something productive and with respect to him and to us.
